National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) is delighted to announce the agreement of academic partnership signed with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania. The partnership will produce top quality research benefiting the development of new technology and products with NSIRC industrial partners.

Tomas Kazdailis is the first student to be placed at NSIRC from KTU. Tomas graduated with Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering in June, 2012. He has a wealth of academic knowledge and industrial experience in 3D printing. He will be developing novel non-destructive testing methods for inspecting components manufactured using additive manufacturing technology. His research is funded by Lloyds Research Foundation and he will be supervised by Mr John Rudlin (TWI) and Professor Rymantas Jonas Kazys (KTU).

We at NSIRC would like to welcome Tomas and are confident that he will enjoy his time at Cambridge working on advanced 3D manufacturing research.
