NSIRC MSc student, Warren Bath
Following over two years in industry, and achieving a BEng in Motorsport Engineering, Warren Bath embarked on an MSc in Structural Integrity at the National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC®).
Having completed a BTEC in Motorsport Engineering, Warren moved to Volkswagen where he worked as an Advanced Technician for over two years. Keen to learn more and progress in the field, he began his BEng. Part of his degree took him to SBM Offshore, a large oil and gas company, where he spent over a year as a mechanical design intern.
It was when Warren attended an event at TWI that he became aware of the opportunities available through NSIRC and applied for a place on the MSc in Structural Integrity. The course, which is awarded through Brunel University London, offered modules that were of particular interest to Warren, such as finite element analysis, non-destructive testing and radiography.
With the help of a scholarship and bursary through Brunel University London, Warren will benefit from the industry-led degree which offers the unique experience of TWI’s expertise across the many and varied disciplines essential to structural integrity. He said:
‘What I liked about the MSc was the opportunity to work in both an academic and industry environment, something that will help me enormously once I start to look for career opportunities when the course has finished.’ Click here
